How much is an extra hour of productivity a day worth to you? This interesting question was posed by Martin Avis, author of ’14 Days to Total Time Control’. Avis found that people answered this question in varying ways. If you flip patties at the local burger joint, the answer would be the minimum wage. If, on the other hand, you run your own business or are a CEO, the answer could very well be in the thousands of dollars’ range – or millions, if you are a billionaire. This makes time management strategies very important. After all, whether your job is flipping patties or arranging corporate takeovers, you cannot afford to waste time.

Time is a precious commodity and an extra hour a day lets you do things that can help you get ahead – take up management courses online, for example, or meet up with a consultant who can overhaul your firm’s image. And if time management strategies are important on a personal level, imagine how much more important it is when you are managing a multi-national company, if not a small firm of 80 people! Time management is such a crucial aspect of corporate operations, in fact, that some businesses actually hire time managers to teach executives time management strategies as well as how to factor in downtime in management decisions.
